Recently Wuttig and his coworkers@footnote 1@ reported a new ferromagnetic shape memory alloy Co@sub2@NiGa, using bulk samples. This present study focuses on the growth of (001) Co@sub2@NiGa thin films on (001) GaAs substrate by molecular beam epitaxy. In-situ reflection high energy electron diffraction, ex-situ X-ray diffraction, and cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy indicate the single crystal growth of Co@sub2@NiGa on (001) GaAs. X-ray diffraction data from bulk samples@super2@ indicate that the Heusler alloys Co@sub2@Ni@sub1+x@Ga@sub1-x@ (0
