Wisconsin Chapter
 

The Wisconsin Chapter was formed in 1973, within the Great Lakes RAG, which covered Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. The Chapter was dissolved in 2000 and the members were assigned to the Minnesota and Prairie Chapters. However, the last elected chair was Carolyn Aita, who served in 1984.

Past Events

 

1971

The American Vacuum Society Great Lakes Regional Administrative Group composed of the ANL/NAL (Chicago Metropolitan Area) and the Central Indiana Chapters will hold its two day seminar jointly with a Technician School at National Accelerator Laboratory, Batavia, Illinois on May 6th and 7th, 1971.

Technical Paper Sessions and Technician Course Sessions will run concurrently through the first day and a half. On the afternoon of the second day, tours of the NAL accelerator facilities will be available. The traditional hospitality gathering and banquet will be held on the first evening.

Contributed papers in the field of vacuum technology are invited, particularly those dealing with recent advancements in either techniques or instrumentation of a non-commercial nature. Contributed papers will be accepted on the basis of a short abstract to be submitted to: P. M. Danielson Program Chairman, Chemical Engineering Division, Argonne National Laboratory.  Further information on the meeting and/or the Technician School is  available from D. April 12-13: 11th Annual Vacuum Symposium of the Great Lakes Regional Administrative Group was sponsored by the Wisconsin Chapter, “Industrial Applications of Vacuum Science and Technology”, was held at the Univ of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; a  “Technicians School” was also held at the same time. 

1985

April 29-May 3: TRISA 85 (Tri-state Symposium and Exhibition on “Surface Analysis and Thin Film Technology” at the Olympia resort, Oconomowoc, WI was co-sponsored by the Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin Chapters. An AVS course program was held but was very poorly attended.
