Publications on Standards and Recommended Practices

The publications generated by the Committee are listed below. Until 1986,  the Committee was  called the Standards Committee. However, only governments may propose standards and since 1986 it has been called the Recommended Practices Committee.

The “standards’ or Recommended Practices were also published in the Journal of Vacuum Science and Technology (JVST), and the reference is given; these are also listed in the Fall 2003 issue of the AVS Newsletter.

*Reprinted in AVS Recommended Practices on Vacuum Measurements & Techniques, Vol. 1, S-2, available from the AVS ($35).

All “standards” till 1972 were listed in NBS 329 “Index of U S Voluntary Engineering Standards”
