Although vacuum technology was the predominant topic in the early years of the society it was not until 1970 that a division was formed, largely due to the efforts of Jim Lafferty and Dick Denton! This photograph of Dick Denton (r) is  taken in a somewhat later period (1994) with Larry Kazmerski, but still going strong!
