 Job Center

The AVS Professional Leadership and Outreach Committee will host a free Job Center, open to all attendees, at the International Symposium and Exhibition for the purpose of connecting job seekers with potential employers. The goal is to facilitate contact and networking during the Conference. To receive the maximum benefit from the Job Center, please sign up and submit your resume or job posting AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK!

Job Seekers:

  • Bring 6 copies of your resume (stapled and 3-hole punched)

  • Complete a time card at beginning of the week at the Job Center Registration area

  • Review job boards daily

  • Leave messages for employer/check back for replies (frequently each day)

  • Be available for onsite/informal interviews

  • Bring extra clean copies of your resume to hand out as needed.

Your resume will be included in binders available for review by potential employers. When you leave a message for an employer of interest, you are responsible to check back for a reply message (i.e. interview/regrets, etc.) It is important to check in often so you do not miss any opportunities for an interview.

Potential Employers:

  • Bring 2 copies of available job openings

  • Complete a time card at beginning of the week at the Job Center Registration area

  • Check messages (daily/often) from interested applicants

  • Review Resume Binders

  • Reply to messages (i.e. interview, regrets, etc.)

  • Schedule/conduct interviews (onsite and informal)

Your job opening(s) will be posted on job boards for review by job seekers. Resume binders will be available for your review (and purchase on or after October 18th). You are responsible to check often/daily for messages from interested applicants, review resumes and provide reply in the form of interview time, regrets, etc.

Advance Registration:
Please note that you may also send in your resume or job opening in advance of the symposium, providing it arrives on or before Monday, September 17, 2007. If you submit your resume or job opening in advance, you still need to report to the Job Center to complete an further registration details and to review job boards/resume binders.
