Airports


Ground Transportation from San Francisco International Airport

Airport Shuttle

SuperShuttle will provide a discount to AVS attendees ($2 off from SFO and $3 off from OAK). Online reservations may be made in advance at www.supershuttle.com using the AVS code: TMJ6W. If you are arriving at SFO, advance reservations are not necessary. See coupon.

Rental Car

San Francisco International (SFO) Airport’s Rental Car Center offers services from Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty. Shuttle buses to the Rental Center depart from upper level outside curb every 5 minutes or you can take the AirTrain (an intra-airport people mover system) to the Rental Car Center.  

Taxi

Taxis depart from the designated taxi zones located at the roadway center islands, on the arrivals/baggage claim level of all terminals. Uniformed taxi coordinators are stationed at the taxi zones from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. to assist passengers with questions or concerns. Taxi service to/from either hotel is approximately $50 each direction. 

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)
The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system now connects with SFO. The SFO BART Station is located in the International Terminal with direct links (one level above) to all terminals via the AirTrain. Travelers can take the BART line from downtown San Francisco to the SFO International Terminal in just 29 minutes for under $5.00.


Public Transit

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)
BART provides service to 43 stations including Millbrae, SFO, San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Fremont, Walnut Creek, and other locations in the East Bay. Hours of operation are weekdays 4:00 a.m.-midnight, Saturday 6:00 a.m.-midnight, and Sunday 8:00 a.m.-midnight. Trains run typically every 15 minutes on weekdays and 20 minutes on evenings and weekends. Fares are based on distance
traveled; tickets may be purchased at stations. Website: www.bart.gov


Cable Cars
Cable cars operate along three routes: the Powell-Hyde line which begins at Powell and Market Streets and terminates at Victorian Park near the Maritime Museum and Aquatic Park; the Powell-Mason line which also begins at Powell and Market but terminates at Bay Street just three blocks from Fisherman’s Wharf; and the California Street line which runs from the foot of Market Street to Van Ness Avenue.

Caltrain
Trains operate daily and holidays from San Francisco to San Jose, with weekday commute hour service to Gilroy. The terminal is at Fourth and King Streets just one block from SBC Park. Website: http://www.caltrain.com


Ferries
Water taxis depart from several points around San Francisco and go to the following destinations: Alameda, Larkspur, Oakland (Jack London Square), Sausalito, Tiburon, and Vallejo. Excursion service also operates between San Francisco and Alcatraz and Angel Islands. During home games, ferry service is available from Pacific Bell Park.
