Hubert W. (Bill) Schleuning served as President 1966-1967. Founding Member. Forty Year Member(1993). BoD 1963-1965. He served as the teller in the AVS elections for many years being of impeccable integrity, but in the election of 1981, when John Arthur edged out Bill Westwood for the position of President-Elect, even Bill Schleuning called in additional and quite independent tellers to examine all questionable ballots, to assure a fair trial! Nancy Hammond, the AVS Executive Secretary always cited Bill Schleuning as the perfect gentleman - which really puts the rest of the AVS hierarchy in a somewhat lower category.
