Manuscript Letter and Updates

One of the goals of this conference is the publication of high-quality papers based on the conference presentations in Special Issues of the journals Thin Solid Films (TSF) and Surface and Coatings Technology (SCT).

We therefore strongly encourage you to submit high-quality manuscripts based on your presentations at ICMCTF 2019 before the April 8, 2019 submission deadline.

Publishing your manuscripts at the Special Issues of ICMCTF has many advantages compared to publishing articles in regular issues:

One-year open access: In collaboration with Elsevier Science Publishers, the ICMCTF Special Issues will be available with one-year open access on the SCT and TSF websites. Anyone worldwide will be able to download and read the Special Issues' papers from the journal websites free of charge. This will increase the visibility and number of citations for all papers appearing in the 2019 ICMCTF Special Issues. Later in the year, all attendees will be notified via email when the Special Issues are completed and free retrieval of articles is accessible.

On-line publication as soon as it is accepted: Immediately following ICMCTF 2019, as soon as a manuscript is accepted, it will be published on-line within two weeks after acceptance in either SCT or TSF.

Editor’s Pick: The Conference organizers have also made an agreement with Elsevier Science Publishers to feature Editor's Picks of selected articles from the ICMCTF 2019 Special Issues. The selected articles will be highlighted later in the year once all accepted submitted manuscripts have been published online.

Manuscript Submission

All Accepted papers will be published in special issues of Surface and Coatings Technology (symposia A, B, E, G, and TS1 and TS3) or Thin Solid Films (symposia C, D, F, H, TS2 and TS4). Manuscripts are accepted with the understanding that the authors have obtained the necessary authority for publication and will be peer-reviewed according to the usual high standards of these archival international journals. Upon acceptance of an article by the Editors, the author(s) will be asked to transfer copyright to Elsevier Science Publishers.

If you decide to submit a manuscript for publication in these Special Issues based on your oral or poster presentation, please follow the detailed instructions for manuscript submission on the following ICMCTF website: Remember it has to be submitted by April 8, 2019.

For manuscript preparation, please follow and adhere to the Guidelines for Authors:

Your cover letter must include: (1) the abstract number assigned by the conference organization, (2) the title of the abstract; (3) the on-site presentation identification number as listed in the program book, and (4) the name of the presenter at the conference.

If you have any difficulties when submitting your manuscript to the EES system, please contact the lead editor, Esteban Broitman at:

Again, please adhere to the deadline of April 8, 2019 for the submission of your manuscript. This will allow our editorial team to initiate early the peer review process, complete their editorial work rapidly and ensure timely publication. We very much appreciate your cooperation.

Very important: Note that manuscripts will not be accepted for publication in the Special Issues unless they have been delivered as oral or poster presentations by the authors listed in the program.

Authors' Registration

All presenting authors must register for the ICMCTF conference using the early-discounted registration form no later than the deadline of April 8, 2019.

The registration form is found on the conference registration website at:
