Press Release Julie Farhm, science teacher at the Mascenic Regional High School, was selected to participate in the Science Educators’ Workshop that was held the first week of November, 2011 at the annual AVS International Symposium & Exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee. Ms. Farhm was the teacher selected by the New England Chapter of AVS to participate in this specialized vacuum applications training, with all expenses paid for by the local AVS chapter. The course included 2 days of both theory and hands-on training in the use of vacuum equipment and its applications and a visit to a local technology company that utilizes vacuum technology for its processes or products. In addition to the educational credits that benefit the participating teacher, this program also provides each participating school with a voucher valued at $1000. toward the purchase of vacuum equipment to be used in a school science curriculum. The Educators' Workshop is an outreach program sponsored annually by the AVS to promote the knowledge of and practical uses for vacuum technology.
