About AVS

AVS: Science and Technology of Materials, Interfaces, and Processing, is a non-profit organization designed to promote vacuum-related science and science education. The Michigan chapter is the local AVS chapter for the state of Michigan. Members of the Michigan AVS are from academic, and industrial institutions and are engaged in research, applied vacuum technology, and vacuum equipment sales. The chapter sponsors from 2-6 dinner meetings per year, and a one-day Spring Symposium and vacuum equipment exhibition. In addition, the Michigan AVS sponsors a Michigan high school science teacher to attend the Science Educators' Workshop held each year at the AVS International Symposium and Exhibition.
